What is unedged ash ?
Unedged Ash is a section of ash wood that has been squared off. This means that the irregular edges of the wood (bark and sapwood) are removed. The finished product has 90° angles on all sides. This result is the result of the first transformation of the wood industry: sawing. unedged Ash is sold fresh or kiln dried.
The advantages of ash
The soft and resistant wood of ash is appreciated for its resistance to bending and impacts. Lumber boards are neither planed nor planed. They are rectangular in shape and show very little deformation. Lumber is therefore a standardized material, with identical pieces. Only the dimensions vary! This is why they are popular for woodworking and cabinetmaking. Ash is popular for joinery, furniture, framing and flooring. It is also the species of choice for turning.
